Anterior Segment / Cornea Diseases & Disorders

The Anterior Segment Division includes the areas of Cornea and External Disease, Comprehensive Ophthalmology, Optometry, and Refractive Surgery. The division is actively involved in teaching, research, and clinical care. Our doctors treat cataracts, corneal abrasions, dry eye, keratoconus, and many other corneal and anterior segment disorders and diseases.

They are integral to our resident clinical and surgical education on campus and through the Columbus VA clinic. They also provide outstanding role models to our residents and medical students.

The division is completing clinical research projects on acute conjunctivitis, fungal and acanthamoeba keratitis, capsular staining in cataract surgery, intra-operative corneal topography, and diabetic macular edema post-cataract surgery.
